Infraero and the challenge of the new Brazil
Infraero is domestic public enterprise with 38 years of tradition and market credibility, and it is used the Brazilian diversity. It is present in all Brazilian states and with headquarters in Brasilia, gathering a labor force of around 36,800 professionals, among permanent and outsourced staff.
Infraero, linked to the Ministry of Defense, manages from large Brazilian airports to even small ones which still do not get regular commercial flights.These are airports that have the function of representing national sovereignty in distant areas. All together, there are 66 airports, 69 Air Navigation Grouping, and 51 Air navigation Technical Units, in addition to 34 cargo logistic terminals.
These airports concentrate around 97% of Brazil’s regular air transport traffic. In figures, this is the equivalent to 2 million domestic and foreign airplanes landings and takeoffs, transporting around 155,3 million passengers a year.
Infraero also works in airports equipped to act as helicopters platform whose vocation is in air cargo logistics.
The Brazilian airport infrastructure, which equates to international standards, is under modernization to meet the demand for coming years. In order to achieve this, the enterprise develops a bold works plan, undertaken with own funding in almost every airport managed by it, generating over 50 thousand jobs throughout Brazil.
Infraero’s target is, in all of its actions, in air transportation users’ safety and comfort, in addition to its social and environmental responsibility. Infraero's Mission is: "To provide airport and air navigation infrastructure and services, contributing toward national integration and sustainable development of the country".
