The Viracopos International Airport is located in one of the major technological poles of the Country, in Campinas, at town that shelters large universities, major highways, and state of art technology corporations. Currently, the airport is one of the most expressive centers for Infraero’s investment.
The Viracopos International Airport, located 14 kilometers from downtown Campinas, and 99 kilometers from Sao Paulo, has access by Santos Dumont, Bandeirantes, and Anhanguera highways.
The old "landing field ", as it was named, became one of the major connection points in Latin America. Imports and Exports Cargo Logistics Terminal has an area with more than 81 thousand square meters.
The airport emerged, during the 1990s, to the International AirCargo segment, evidencing its cargo vocation. In addition to its infrastructure, modernization of cargo movement and customs clearance processes, in partnership with the Federal Revenue Service, turned the airport into a logistics reference in the domestic scenario.
Infraero undertakes, since 1995, investment to implement the first stage of Airport Master Plan, with improvements in cargo and passengers terminals. The first was delivered in the first semester of 2004, when the airport started to count on new boarding and disembarkation lounges, public areas, and commercial. Expansion of passengers terminal was completed in 2005.
