The Navegantes international airport is one of the international airports of the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, and it services the Itajai Valley region. It was raised to international airport status in November 2004. Its international status meets the request by the tourist trade of Santa that wishes to meet the demand for international flights, particularly the charter flights for the Itajai Valley region.
Additionally, the airport has a major cargo terminal that, jointly with Navegantes harbor, turns the city into a reference in the domestic and international transportation network.
Located strategically, close to major industrial towns such as Blumenau, Itajai, Brusque, and Rio do Sul.  Itajai Valley macro-region, in which the Municipality of Navegantes is inserted, is one of the regions with greatest tourist appeals in the state.
