Rubem Berta International Airport

Uruguaiana

Uruguaiana, located at the border with Paso de los Libres in Argentina, is considered the largest dry port in Latin America because of its strategic location next to countries that comprise the MERCOSUL economic block. The Rubem Berta International Airport, however, does not operate any regular commercial flight. With over 700 thousand meters of built area, this is the largest airport in the interior of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.

Near the airport, there are two Federal highway axes, BR-290 and BR-472, in addition to railways whose trails are located around 2,500 meters from the terminal. Located 9 km from downtown, the airport is at the altitude of 78 meters. Annual average temperature is 16°C, with intense heat in the summer and harsh winter.

Uruguaiana, located at 630 km from Porto Alegre, has a population of 126,936 inhabitants. Agriculture and livestock are the region’s major economic activities, which encompasses 1,510 rural properties.
